Shower Gels are not a popular concept in India. Understandably so, they are not very economical and the whole loofah thingy is a complete new and alien concept. Shower gels however are definitely more hygienic than soaps and a damn sight convenient to carry along on travels.
I also carry my shower gels to the gym as that is where they are extremely handy. I regularly use Body Shop Shower Gels for the gym. They are economical vis-à-vis how long they last and they lather decent and are good on the freshening up and fragrance bit.
Like I mentioned in the earlier post I got gifted the Lush Mandarin Tea Party Soap along with the Lush Glogg Shower Gel. Cheers to sisters in the US! The Lush Mandarin Soap lived a short life, but the shower gel still goes strong and here is all about the shower gel and what the hell is Glogg?
Swedish Glogg
Glogg is a type of Swedish mulled wine. Mulled wine that is heated up and blended in with spices and fruits, this is done mostly around Christmas.
So Lush’s version of Glogg is a shower and hair gel that uses Red wine, brandy, fruit juice and infusion of clove and cinnamon to pepper up the winters and spread the Christmas cheer.
About Lush Glogg Shower Gel:
- The texture is runny, not gel like. It’s very watery and does resemble red wine
- Not too much of lather. In fact very low on lather. But it cleans up ok.
- The fragrance is very masculine. It is very woodsy and spicy. In fact it reminds me of the pan parag goli, the red confectionary sweet. That’s what it smells like. And a little like masala chai.
- Cinnamon and clove are the top notes. That’s the fragrance that it retains on the skin.
- It isn’t a fragrance that I loved to begin with. But now I kind of really like it. It is very fresh and warm especially for this cold weather and reminds you that Christmas is round the corner.
- I don’t use it as a hair gel, strictly as a shower gel and it retains the fragrance on skin for a long while. In fact after a hot shower, the bathroom feels nice. All warm and cinnamon smelling.
- This is definitely something like an acquired taste. I would have never purchased it myself. But now I really look forward to showers with this warm and woodsy smelling shower gel.

You should try some of their products. Some products smell very fruity and are not very convenient to use even if they are natural. Their ocean salt scrub is nice. Try it sometime
